WELCOME TO SMILE BABA FOUNDATION

Smile Baba Foundation is an NGO in Africa directly putting smiles on over 20,000 children and their families every year, through more than 250 live welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood and youth empowerment, in over 340 remote villages and slums across 10 countries in Africa. The foundation also campaigns for change on various human rights issues in Africa

OUR MISSION

Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one’s awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one’s rights – and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen.

Doubtless, education is the most powerful tool for social transformation. But child education cannot be done in isolation. A child will go to school only if the family, particularly the mother, is assured of healthcare and empowered. Moreover, when an elder sibling is relevantly skilled to be employable and begins earning, the journey of empowerment continues beyond the present generation.

OUR VISION

Inspired by CEO of Smile Entertainment Limited, Smile Baba, a spirited young man who believes in putting smiles on the faces of the young and old. He set up Smile Baba Foundation to work with grassroots initiatives for effecting positive changes in the lives of underprivileged children, their families and communities.

Smile Baba Foundation is working as a catalyst in bringing sustainable change in the lives of underprivileged children, youth and women, with a life-cycle approach of development.
To Enable the civil society across the world to engage proactively in the change process through the philosophy of civic driven change.
Adopt highest standards of governance to emerge as a leading knowledge and technology-driven, innovative and scalable international development organisation.

OUR PROGRAMS

Children are the future of a nation. For an emerging continent like Africa, development of underprivileged children holds the key to the progress of the continent itself, and their education is the cornerstone of this progress. But education for children cannot be achieved without ensuring the welfare of the family – a child can go to school regularly only when the family is healthy and empowered; the family has decent livelihood opportunities and a steady income.

Realizing this, Smile Baba Foundation, beginning in the corridors of education, has adopted a lifecycle approach with intensive programmes focused on family health, livelihood and community engagement through the youth empowerment, which addresses the needs of less privileged children, their families and the larger community.
